Part I establishes the mathematics honestly, strips away the myths that cling to the Fibonacci sequence, and introduces recurrence as an inspectable process for growing something new from preserved prior states. Nothing in this part asks you to accept a single word of Odisena doctrine. It asks only that you look carefully at how a very simple rule produces a very rich structure — and that you notice, as you look, how much of that structure depends on nothing being thrown away.
